SpokeFlow privacy policy
Last updated: 8 November 2026
SpokeFlow is a Windows utility that shows a ring of actions where your mouse pointer is, when you hold the scroll wheel or press a keyboard shortcut.
What we collect
Nothing. SpokeFlow does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information, and it does not send any data over the internet.
What stays on your PC
- Your settings (your rings, spokes, shortcuts and preferences) are saved in a file inside the app's own storage on your PC.
- Pictures you choose as spoke icons are copied into that same storage on your PC, so the icon still works if you move or delete the original. They are never uploaded.
- A small diagnostic log (for example "ring opened over Notepad, ran Undo") is kept on your PC to help with support requests. It never leaves your PC unless you choose to send it to us. It never contains anything you type.
Uninstalling SpokeFlow removes all of these.
How the app works with your mouse, keyboard and screen
- Mouse: to notice when you hold the scroll wheel and which way you flick, SpokeFlow watches mouse movement and button presses while it's running. They're used immediately and never recorded. While a flick is in progress it also reads raw mouse movement, so flicks still work at the edge of the screen.
- Keyboard: SpokeFlow watches only for the Esc key while a ring is open (so Esc can close it), and for your chosen ring shortcut. When you record a shortcut in settings, it listens to the keyboard only while that dialog is open, and keeps just the one shortcut you save.
- What you're pointing at: to pick the right ring, SpokeFlow asks Windows which window is under the pointer and which app it belongs to (for example "File Explorer, title bar"). It doesn't read the contents of any window.
- Frosted-glass effect: when the ring opens, SpokeFlow copies the small square of screen directly behind it, blurs it, and uses that as the ring's background. The copy stays in memory only while the ring is open. It's never saved, and never sent anywhere. You can turn the effect off in Trigger and look > Frosted glass.
- Clipboard: SpokeFlow only touches the clipboard when you use a spoke that needs it.
- Search the web copies the text you selected, opens your chosen search engine (Google, Bing or DuckDuckGo) in your browser with that text, then puts back what was on your clipboard before.
- Paste as plain text takes what you copied and pastes it without its formatting.
- Nothing from the clipboard is kept or sent anywhere by SpokeFlow. The search itself is between your browser and the search engine you picked, under that search engine's own privacy policy.
- Your apps: when you choose "Choose an app…", SpokeFlow reads the list of apps in your Start menu, and their icons, to show them to you. It keeps only the ones you pick, in your settings.
- Actions you set up: spokes only do what you set them to do: send a shortcut, type your text, open apps, files, folders or websites, run a command, or move a window.
